ATTENTION PARKING VIOLATORS

There have been several concerns expressed by homeowners, about the parking of boats, trailers, or other recreational vehicles on city streets within the Knolls Village neighborhood.

In checking with the City of Centennial website for any parking regulations regarding this issue, we were referred to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Department who then informed us that, boats, trailers, and recreational vehicles may be parked on city streets for a 48 hour period only for loading and unloading.

We were also told that fines for extended parking of such vehicles were several hundred dollars a day.

While we recognize there may be extenuating circumstances where you may not always be able to accommodate the 48 hour regulation, we would certainly appreciate your trying to do so.

We are informing you of our position, as a matter of acknowledging that your KVTA board is NOT responsible to our residents for situations involving property rights over which we have no authority.

We shall be informing any and all homeowners who approach this board of these rules as our response to any and all inquiries and advising them that they may file an anonymous telephone complaint with the police who will then respond by ticketing.

Hopefully this will clarify your board’s position, both to complainants as well as to those who choose to park such vehicles within the City of Centennial and our neighborhood.

Sincerely,
KVTA Board of Directors
